Fraser Island Sand Dunes

Fraser Island is one of those places that seemingly shouldn’t exist. Despite its base being a 75 mile long sand bank it somehow supports a bewildering array of tree and plant life as well as swamp wallabies, squirrel gliders, bandicoots and flying foxes amongst many others. Protected as a World Heritage Site since 1992 it still feels only half a step away from its primeval roots.
