It used to be so simple. It used to be so easy. I would be ambling along, see something, think ‘that’s a nice shot’, and then point and shoot my point and shoot. If I got the picture I wanted then great. If not then meh. No bother.
But one day that ceased to be enough. I had hit the limitations of what I could do so blessed with the fortitude of total ignorance I left my trusty point and shoot behind and took the step up to the next level and what a murky and unforgiving place it has turned out to be.
As I peeled back the layers of understanding any belief in myself or my ability was...

Just come accross this fantasticaly simple yet brilliant site to dig up EXIF data on any shot posted on-line.
Simply copy and paste the images URL into http://www.findexif.com/ and it reveals all without the need to upload the image.
Weapons grade awesome.
P.s. Whoever has set this up has chosen to remain anonymous but if the creator of this site is cruising his or her link referrals on Google Web Master and it brings you here may I say well done!

Morning World,
Been a bit quiet of late I know but fear not my hard rocking amigos as there is plenty of good stuff bubbling.
I shall hopefully have some shots from my trip last week to Norway and Denmark up in the next few days and I have a trip set up for Scotland in July.
Plus, I have a new site in development at the moment that will sit along side this one but….. more details on that to follow.
Love ya!

Morning all,
Just found an amazing site through the polished awesome that is Stumbleupon that I thought I would give an honourable mention here.
http://www.onsight.com.au/ features the work of Simon Carter who has managed to combine the two art forms of photography and climbing sublimely. He has a quality to his work that comes not from over polishing in Photoshop but from a supreme grasp of composition, a deep and understanding of his subject and most importantly having the balls-out audacity to get out there and get the...

Do you remember that kid back at school? The one who had the scientific calculator and would take every opportunity to flash it about despite the fact that he had no idea what 99% of the functions did? Of course you do. Hell, if you are reading this then it probably was you. Well it appears some people never grow out of that habit, especially when they graduate to their DSLR camera.
I am, of course, talking about the Green Box Warriors. You can see them at family events, theme parks and sports days up and down the country brandishing top of the line gear which has probably only ever been...

The tribalism around certain products has always struck me as a little disconcerting. The level of hysteria Macintosh seems to be able to whip up from their core demographic borders on lunacy, the Ford vs. Holden rivalry in Australia has lead to open violence and the vicious PS3 vs. Xbox market battle has forced out what were older and better established companies that simply failed to keep up.
That said none of this compares to the venomous level of petty detail and anger that seems to spill forth when Cannon and Nikon fans clash. I have never seen pedantry like it with battle lines drawn...

In the endless search to get better I have come across an amazing website that has some very useful hints, tips and tricks on it. It has led me down a few avenues as a photogrpaher that I had not even considered before and I thought I would give it an honourable mention here:

It’s been a few months in the making and after much trial and error I am proud to present my shiny new …… thing.
Now, before we proceed any further I just want to make it clear that I am somewhat adverse to the word “Blog” because, as my all time hero Zero Puntuation points out, it sounds like a sort of creature that lives at the bottom of a river and comunicates through farts. So hence forth this bit shall be refered to as … errrr…. Oh, God knows, but not blog.
Anyhoo this is all rather new and exiting and I am still trawling through my archives to pull out something half...
